Why are Axon FL-41 contacts so expensive?

Axon contact lenses have required a lot of time and expense to develop.
FDA standards are stringent and the process of making contacts to that standard is a thorough one.
Additionally, these are custom made and have a double verification process between Axon and the customer's eye care provider to ensure the prescription and fit are correct.
Lastly the contacts are annual, so a single pair will last a whole year. Broken down monthly, the base cost is $50/month.
