Yes, all customers need to visit an eye doctor to get a contact lens prescription, because the contact lens prescription will measure the shape of your eye.  The they have no vision correcting power, the FDA categorizes contact lenses as prescription medical devices, not to be sold over-the-counter without a prescription.

Axon Optics is required to obtain a copy of or verify your prescription before we can sell you contact lenses.  Fortunately, it's easy to obtain a prescription and many insurance providers cover the cost of an eye exam each year.

To obtain a prescription:

  1. Schedule an appointment with your local optometrist for a contact lens exam.
  2. Share with your optometrist this information in the pdf attached to this page.  Your optometrist will write you a prescription specifically for Axon Spectrashield contact lenses.
  3. After you have your prescription, return to axonoptics.com to submit your prescription during checkout.
